Privacy Policy

OddsRanger compares betting odds from licensed Tanzanian bookmakers. We do not take bets and never see your bookmaker account. This page explains what personal data we collect, why, who processes it for us, how long we keep it and how to use your rights under Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, 2022.

What we collect and why

• Your account (only if you register). Your email address and password, your display name, country and preferred bookmaker, and the dates you signed up and finished set-up. Your password is stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider; we never see it. Why: to run your account. Basis: providing the service you asked for.
• Saved slips (only if you save one). The slip's name, stake and picks, linked to your account. Why: so you can come back to them. Basis: providing the service you asked for. You can delete a saved slip yourself at any time.
• Clicks to a bookmaker. When you press “Bet on …”: which bookmaker, which match or slip, the page you were on, how many picks, your browser type (user agent), the time and, if you are signed in, your account id. Why: to know which bookmakers our users choose, measure the commission we may earn from bookmakers, and improve the site. Basis: our legitimate interest in running and funding the service.
• Visit statistics. The pages you view, the page language, your device type, your approximate location (country and city, worked out from your IP address, which is then discarded) and the site you came from, using PostHog. Until you choose in the cookie banner, a visit is counted without cookies; if you accept, a cookie lets us recognise your next visit; if you decline, we keep counting visits without cookies. If you are signed in and have accepted, your visits are linked to your account id (never your email). Why: to know how many people use OddsRanger and what helps them. Basis: your consent for the cookie; our legitimate interest for cookieless counting.
• Stored in your browser, not on our servers. Your bet slip and stake, your 18+ confirmation, your cookie choice, your language preference (a cookie) and, when signed in, your sign-in session. Why: so the site works as you left it. Clear them at any time in your browser settings.
• Technical logs. Like any website, our hosting providers record basic request information (such as IP address, page and time) for security and troubleshooting, and keep it for a limited period under their own policies.
• When you contact us. If you use Contact us: the topic, your message, the page you were on (and the match, if you report one), and your name and email only if you give them. Why: to answer you and fix what you report. Basis: our legitimate interest in running the service, or your request.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• There are no advertising trackers on OddsRanger, and we do not record your screen or keystrokes.
• We do not receive your bets, your bookmaker account details or your payment details: those stay between you and the bookmaker.

Who processes your data for us

We use these service providers. Each processes data only to provide its service to us:

• Supabase — our database and sign-in (servers in Frankfurt, Germany).
• Railway — the servers that run our API (United States).
• Vercel — hosts the website (global network).
• PostHog — visit statistics (servers in the United States).
• Google (Gmail) — delivers Contact us messages to our support inbox.

When you click through to a bookmaker you leave OddsRanger: the bookmaker's own privacy policy then applies. We do not send them your account details.

Data stored outside Tanzania

Our providers store data in Germany and the United States. We use them under their data-processing terms, which require them to protect it.

How long we keep it

• Your account and saved slips: until you delete them or ask us to delete your account.
• Clicks to bookmakers: kept for affiliate reporting. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete the clicks linked to it too.
• Visit statistics: kept in PostHog for as long as we need them to understand how the site is used.
• Contact messages: kept while we deal with them. Ask us at any time and we'll delete yours.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, or to delete it and your account, and you can object to its use. To do any of these, email privacy@oddsranger.com.

To change your cookie choice at any time, use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Commission.

Age

OddsRanger is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
